30 weeks and a river

I was reading the page that the little thingy on my iGoogle page links to this morning, while sitting on the balcony, overlooking the riverwalk in San Antonio. Today marks the 30th week, and baby and mommy are doing a-okay. It said on there that the baby weighs about 3 pounds, is 15 inches long, and is curled up with its1 knees to its chest. That would explain the occasional tight spots on her tummy, where you can feel solidness behind it.

Reading through today’s page, something odd caught my eye. In the “daddy get your ass to the hospital cause its time” birthing kit, there was a line:

A bulb syringe to suck snot out of the baby’s nose if necessary

What? Like a turkey baster? It reminded me, how subtle it was, that I am not as prepared as I truly need to be.

Time to get crackin.

  1. I use “its” and “it” to refer to the baby as we’re not planning to find out the sex []
